Marie Imogene William was an African American dentist. She was born in Washington. D.C. on November 5th, 1871.[1] While Ida Gray Nelson Rollins was the first African American woman to receive a dental degree in the United States, Marie Imogene William was the first black female graduate in dentistry from Howard University. [2]
