Mark Eric Lee (born January 23, 1975) is an American football coach who is the offensive assistant coach for the St. Louis Battlehawks of the (XFL). He has coached at several colleges and high school. He played college football and baseball at Olivet Nazarene University and at Waynesburg University. Lee attended high school at Morgantown High School graduating in 1993.

High School career

Mark Lee played football (quarterback) and baseball (catcher, centerfielder) for the Morgantown High School. Lee was a three-year starter at quarterback for head coach Glen McNew and three-year starter in baseball under head coach Dave Chaplin. Lee was a two-time all-state baseball player for the Mohigans and received all-state recognition his senior year in football. He was also the award winner of the Arthur Clyde Award, which went to the schools best athlete.

College career

Lee played college football as a wide receiver for Olivet Nazarene University under head coach Mike Conway. He played from 1995 to 1998. He also played baseball centerfielder for Brian Baker. Lee first attended Waynesburg University (1993–95) where played football and baseball for the Yellow Jackets. Lee received two all-conference recognition in both sports while at Waynesburg University and one all-conference award in baseball at Olivet Nazarene University. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1998.

Coaching career

Lee got his first coaching job at Randolph-Macon College in 1998 coaching the wide receivers under Head Coach Scott Boone. He then became a graduate assistant for West Virginia in 1999, working with the tight ends under NCAA Hall of Fame coach Don Nehlen. Lee helped the team win the Music City Bowl in 2000. Lee coached 2000 first round draft pick, Anthony Becht (NYJ) during his time at WVU. He then graduated with a master's degree from West Virginia in 2001. Lee then coached QB/WR and was passing game coordinator at Geneva College in 2001 under head coach Geno DeMarco. In spring of 2002, Lee was offensive coordinator at Southwestern College, KS. In the fall, Lee headed south and was offensive coordinator at Bartram Trail High School under head coach Darrell Sutherland. In 2004, Lee took the offensive coordinator position at Bethany College under his father and head coach, Steve Lee. He moved on to Waddell High School and coached the wide receivers in 2006. He then became the wide receivers coach for Springstead High School under head coach Bill Vonada in 2007. In 2009, Lee got his first head coaching job at Nature Coast Technical High School, losing in the first round of the FHSAA play-offs. Lee then accepted the position of head coach and athletic director at Weeki Wachee High School. Weeki Wachee was a brand new high school. He was there from 2010 to 2017. From 2017–2022, Lee was athletic director and assistant football coach at Hernando High School.

Professional career

St. Louis Battlehawks

Lee was hired as the offensive assistant for the St. Louis Battlehawks of the XFL under head coach Anthony Becht in September of 2023.

Personal life

Lee and his wife, Christina, have and son, Tristan (TD) and a daughter, Anastasia.
