Marta Valdés (born July 6, 1934) is a Cuban guitarist. composer, and singer.

Marta Valdés was born on July 6, 1934 in Havana, Cuba. She was educated at the University of Havana and studied music under Francisqueta Vallalta, Guyún, Leopoldina Núñez, and Harold Gramatges.[1]

She has composed music for the theatre, including stagings of The Good Person of Szechwan by Bertolt Brecht, The House of Bernarda Alba by Federico García Lorca, The Dog in the Manger by Lope de Vega, Pasado a la criolla by José R. Brene, and El becerro de oro by Joaquín Lorenzo Luaces, and films, including Desarraigo (1965), directed by Fausto Canel and Lucía (1968), directed by Humberto Solás.[1]

Her works have been performed by many artists, including Vicentico Valdés, Sergio Vitier and Chano Domínguez.
