Mason Ladd was an American University Dean and professor of law. He taught for 10 years at the University of Iowa College of Law before becoming the second longest tenured dean in the law school's history.[1] Upon his retirement from the University of Iowa, he went on to found the Florida State University College of Law, where he served as dean for 3 years[2] and where there is now a scholarship[3] and professorship[4] in his name.


Mason Ladd was the son of Iowa Supreme Court Chief Justice Scott M. Ladd. He also held a close friendship with Supreme Court Associate Justice Wiley Rutledge who preceded him as Dean at the University of Iowa.[5]
