The Men’s Elite Trophy is a proposed multi-day cricket tournament organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). Scheduled to take place from the last week of October 2024, the tournament will feature the top four teams from the Prime Minister Cup. The matches will be held at Ramjanki Multipurpose Stadium in Janakpur and Narayani Cricket Ground in Birgunj, Madhesh Province.[1][2]
History
[edit]In January 2024, CAN proposed the Men’s Elite Trophy to introduce a multi-day format for the top teams from the Prime Minister Cup.[3] This initiative aims to provide a higher level of competition and further the development of cricket in Nepal.[4]
Tournament Format
[edit]The Men's Elite Trophy will be contested in a multi-day format. The tournament will feature a knockout structure, including semi-finals and a final, with the top four teams from the Prime Minister Cup qualifying for the competition.[5]
