Micro Instrument Corpoation is a for-profit company that provides automation consulting, and advanced tooling and machined parts. The company delivers custom automation machines, and also produces specialized, low-volume machined parts for various non-industrial enterprises in Aerospace, Defense, Medical Device, Optics, Nuclear Energy, Automotive, Packaging, Filtration, Semiconductor, and Consumer products.

Micro Instrument Corp is an ITAR-compliant and -registered company. The company has one 55,000 sq. ft. facility in Rochester, N.Y., USA, where it is headquartered.

History[1][edit]

Micro Instrument was founded in Rochester, N.Y., in 1944, initially developing surgical instruments. In 1967, the Automated Systems Group began, and has since become the major role of the company.

Apprenticeship program[2][edit]

Micro Instrument offers New-York-State-accredited (four-year) apprenticeship programs for young professionals interested in CNC Machining, Machine Building and Toolmaking.

Engineering apprenticeship[edit]

The company also hires entry-level mechanical and electrical engineers to train in their engineering apprenticeship program (one to two years).
