From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mijailo Nedić (Osečina, Kolubara District, Serbia, 1775 - 1809) was the youngest of the Nedić brothers (Damnjan Nedić and Grigorije Nedić) who were among the first volunteers and commanders in Karađorđe's uprising against the Dahis[1].

Biography

[edit]

Mihajlo Nedić was a standard-bearer in the Battle of Svileuva (Boj na Svileuvi) where he was wounded in 1804. He wanted to join his two older brothers in the ill-fated Battle of Čokešina[2]but his wounds from Svileuva kept him confined in a military hospital in Osečina. Later, he went on to fight in the Battle of Čučuge (Boj na Čučugama) on 3 April 1806 where the Turkish commander Osman-Džora was killed along with half of his 5,800 fighting men. [3]
