Draft:Milosav Stojanović Lapovac

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Milosav Stojanović Lapovac (Serbian: Милосав Стојановић Лаповац; 1770-1844) was one of the leading fighters in the First Serbian Uprising who along with his countrymen routed the Turks in the Šumadija District.[1][2]He was among the first participants of the Orašac Assembly at the very start of the Serbian Revolution.

A good part of the people of Lepenica under Prince Đuka Filipović from Jagnjilo also took part in the battle near Batočina.[3] In addition to the mentioned Duke Dimitrije Parezan from Brzan, Pavle Cukić from Krčmar and Milosav Stojanović Lapovac from Lapovo were famous. The people of Lepenica had every reason to rejoice. The Turks lost the battle on their main road, in the heart of Šumadija, and Lepenica established itself as a center of defence in the First Serbian Uprising.
