Minky is a thick, plush fabric made of 100% polyester. It is often used to make blankets, and in place of wool in many products.

Structure[edit]

Minky is a microfiber plush fabric made of polyester. It is a pile fabric with a silky texture.

History[edit]

Minky fabric was first introduced in the 1950s as an alternative to fake fur. While fake furs were initially created to replace more costly real fur products, the softness of pile fabrics made them appealing for various uses.

Use[edit]

Minky is ultrasoft and is considered hypo-allergenic. It is commonly used for plush items like blankets, teddy bears, and so forth, being stain-resistant and easy to clean. ^[1] ^[2]
