  • Comment: See explanation on talk page. There are verifiability, notability, and tone issues, and this page should never be accepted because it will never survive AFD. The article describes the subject as having been born in 1994, but the references state that he died in 2008 and was born in 1934.
The person who was born in 1934 and died in 2008 may be notable, but this article will first have to be blown up and started over.

  • Comment: See draft AFD written while this page was in mainspace. There are serious factual errors, because this article states that the subject was born in 1994, but the references include two obituaries that state that he was born in 1934 and died in 2008. Background[edit]

Mitsuhiro Matsuda suit, c.1986 01.jpg Mitsuhiro Matsuda is a famous Japanese fashion designer who was born 1994, on April 2nd in Tokyo Hachiouji. His family owned what’s called a gofukushou. This is a type of business that handles any operations associated with the making of Japanese clothing. After graduating high school He went to Waseda University, graduating with a degree in education, and then attended Bunka Fukusou Gakuin as well as Setsu Mode Seminar. The former is a prestigious fashion college, currently ranked among the top 10 fashion colleges worldwide, and the latter is another school of the arts that closed in 2017. While studying at these universities he met Kenzo Takada, Isao Kaneko, and Junko Koshino, who all went on to become prestigious fashion designers.

After College[edit]

After finishing his studies at both universities he entered SannAi Co for two years and retires before heading to France with Takada and returning to create Nicole Co Ltd in 1967. This trip was what sparked the creation of his brand. In France, he saw a model in Elle magazine named Nicole, and she was what became his inspiration for the designer brand. Although New York, Paris, and Milan had already organized combined fashion weeks, Tokyo had yet to follow, before Matsuda created TD6 in 1974 (Tokyo Designer 6). TD6 was the first Tokyo fashion week in history and was comprised of the following members. Koshino, Yukiko Hanai, Kaneko, Takeo Kikuchi and Kansai Yamamoto. Although TD6 ended up disbanding years later, due to quarreling within the group, it was an iconic beginning to Tokyo's first fashion week.

About the Brand[edit]

Matsuda's were only sold from the 1970s to the 90s and were well known for having a large, detail-oriented, unisex vibe, and a distinct east meets west aesthetic. Other distinctive characteristics include a strong menswear line, attention to particular and small details, and the combining of several different fabrics and textures to create visually appealing clothing. At the time, most fashion designers only sold menswear as a watered-down version of the female line, so his menswear line garnered a lot of attention. Many fashion fanatics today look for the elusive brand wherever they go and share a similar mindset, 'When you see a piece from his collection you buy it now, it won't be there when you come back for it'.
