Mohammed Nasser (Bengali: মোহাম্মদ নাসের) (01 January 1960– 28 January 2016) was a Bangladeshi statistician, mathematician, researcher, and columnist. He was a professor of the department of statistics in Rajshahi University.
Personal life[edit]
Nasser was born in 1960 at Baitpur, Bagerhat, Bengal Presidency, British India, (now Bangladesh). His brother was Mohammad Rafiq (poet), a poe. Nasser spent his childhood in Bagerhat.
Education[edit]
Nasser completed his honors and master's degree in Statistics from Jahangirnagar University. He completed his Phd from Chittagong University
Career[edit]
Nasser's work in academia spanned more than two decades. He joined as a lecturer in the Department of Statistics at Rajshahi University. Nasser spent a year as a visiting fellow Malayasia.
Professional affiliations[edit]
In 2000, Nasser formed the Statistical Learning Group to set up a world-renowned platform for Statistical Learning.[1]
Death[edit]
Nasser died on 28 January 2016, at the age of 56.[2] [3] [4]
