Monica Mohnot is an Indian-American visual artist based in Austin, Texas, she uses an interdisciplinary approach that blends painting with textile art. Her work is deeply influenced by the natural world and her experiences navigating various cultural spheres.

Monica Mohnot was born in Kolkata, India. She moved to the United States in 2001 following her marriage. Monica holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas State University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2019. In addition she has a Master of Fine Arts at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), focusing on Studio, Fiber, and Material Studies. At SAIC, she has received several accolades, including the New Artist Society Merit Scholarship. [1]

Monica's artistic process involves layering techniques of accumulation, repetition, and erasure, creating works that reflect the complexity and beauty of her experiences over time.
