Monique Farmer is an American author and academic at the Stan Richards School of Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Texas at Austin, focused on public relations techniques. She is also a former professor of practice at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln from 2019 to 2022.[1] Farmer has contributed to academic research, including a presentation on crisis communication management, and a co-authored paper on crisis communication in the Newspaper Research Journal.[2]

Farmer has received the UNL PRSSA National Bateman Competition Award, NSPRA Gold Medallion Awards, PRSA Nebraska Professional of the Year Award, as well as the PRSA Silver Anvil Award in Government Crisis Communications. She was the first Black President of PRSA Nebraska, and honored with the Special Achievement in Public Relations award.[3][4][5][6]
