History

[edit]

The 7100 series trains were first introduced on the Nankai Main Line in 1969. By 1973, a total of 162 vehicles were built.[2]

From 1999 to 2003, the entire first batch of 9 4-car sets was scrapped by July 2003 due to the introduction of the 1000 series.[3]

As of 2024, only 62 vehicles remain in fleet.[2]
