[edit]

Guelph Storm (2015-2019)

[edit]

Schnarr was drafted 58th overall in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection by the Guelph Storm.[4] He only scored 4 points in 6 games with the Storm during the 2015-16 OHL season as he spent most of the season with the Kitchener-Waterloo Siskins of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.[5] During the 2015-16 GOJHL season, Schnarr scored 54 points in 45 games with the Siskins. His production helped lead the Siskins to the playoffs, where he scored 17 points in 15 playoff games before losing to the Stratford Cullitons in the MidWestern Conference finals.[6] After his productive season in the GOJHL, the Guelph Storm made him an active member of their team for the upcoming 2016-17 season, which was Schnarr's draft year. In the 2016-17 season, Schnarr put up 36 points in 54 games. The Storm ended up missing the Memorial Cup playoffs that season. His effort that season led to Schnarr being drafted 75th overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.[2]

Schnarr also represented Team Canada in the 2017 IIHF World U18 Championships where he only put up an assist in 5 games.[7]

During the 2017-18 season, Schnarr put up 39 points in 57 games.[1]

During the 2018-19 season, Schnarr put up a career high 102 points in 65 games, including 34 goals and 68 assists. His production helped the Storm win the J. Ross Robertson Cup as OHL playoff champions and make the 2019 Memorial Cup.[8] Schnarr only put up 2 points in 4 games as the Storm lost in the semifinals to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the QMJHL, who ended up being the Memorial Cup Champions.

Professional

[edit]

Tucson Roadrunners (2019)

[edit]

Due his productive season and Memorial Cup appearance, Schnarr was called up to the Arizona Coyotes roster for the 2019-20 NHL Season. After playing in the preseason, Schnarr was assigned to Arizona's AHL affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners. Schnarr put up 9 points in 22 games that season with the Roadrunners, including 1 goal and 8 assists.[1]

Binghamton Devils/Utica Comets (2019-2022)

[edit]

On December 16, 2019, Schnarr was traded along with Nick Merkley, Kevin Bahl, a conditional first-round pick in 2020 and a conditional third-round pick in 2021 to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Taylor Hall and Blake Speers.[2]

The Devils sent Schnarr down to their affiliate team, the Binghamton Devils, where Schnarr put up 8 points in 21 games including 2 goal and 6 assists to finish out the season.[1]

During the 2020-21 season, Schnarr put up 15 points in 33 games with Binghamton, including 6 goals and 9 assists. The Devils would miss the Calder Cup Playoffs that season, however.[9]

Laval Rocket (2022-2023)

[edit]

On March 26, 2022, the New Jersey Devils would trade Schnarr to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for goaltender Andrew Hammond.[2] In 20 games with the Canadiens affiliate, the Laval Rocket, Schnarr would score 4 goals and 6 assists for 10 points. The Rocket would make the 2022 Calder Cup playoffs, where Schnarr put up 4 points in 11 playoff games as the Rocket would lose to the Springfield Thunderbirds in the conference finals.[10]

On July 13, 2022, the Canadiens signed Schnarr to a 1 year, two-way contract worth $750,000.[11]

During the 2022-23 season, Schnarr would put up 7 points in 27 games with the Rocket. His poor production led to his trade on March 3, 2023.[2]

Ontario Reign (2023)

[edit]

On March 3, 2023, Schnarr was traded to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for defenceman Frédéric Allard.[2] In 18 games with the Kings AHL affiliate, the Ontario Reign, Schnarr put up 1 goal and 1 assist for two points, the lowest production in his career.[1]
