The National Economic Council (NEC) is an organization in the Nigerian Government created in 1999 whose role is to advise the President concerning the economic affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It meets monthly at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja and discusses the coordination of the economic programmes of the national and state governments.[1]
