Nayomini Ratnayake Weerasooriya (Sinhala: නයෝමිණි රත්නායක වීරසුරිය, born 13 October 1965) is a Sri Lankan journalist, writer, and entrepreneur..[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]

She founded Satyn Magazine in December 1998, one of Sri Lanka's first English Language monthly women's lifestyle magazines, which went online in 2007 (www.satynmag.com), currently she is also the Editor[9] [10] [11] [12] [1] [13] [14]

She is also an active journalist, writing for The Sunday Times [15] [16] and the Daily Mirror; in her column "Gender Talk" [17][18][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30].

Career[edit]

She commenced her career as a journalist with Independent Newspapers back in the 1980s, at Sun (Ceylon). She also worked as a journalist for the Inter Press Service in Bonn, Germany from 1984 to 1986.

Following an illustrious career in journalism, she went into Public Relations; having worked with several leading corporates in Sri Lanka in PR. In 1995 she founded her own PR agency; Niche Corporate Communications,[31][32] one of the very first PR agencies in Sri Lanka. They have worked with and continues with work with leading local and global brand names and companies.[33][34][35][36]

Satyn Magazine[edit]

In 1998, Nayomini founded Satyn (magazine), an English Language Sri Lankan, monthly women's lifestyle magazine, which is one of Sri Lanka’s leading women’s magazines.[37][38]
