Nenad Vorih was born in Zagreb in 1963.[1] Vorih completed his academic studies under Ferdinand Kulmer and began his career under the tutelage of Croatian painter Edo Murtić.[2][3]
Vorih established a new aesthetic criteria expanding the horizon of action in relation to the classical understanding of painting veduta.[4]
Background[edit]
For two decades, Vorihs' paintings have centered on metropolises and are recognized as contributing a multimedia ‘meta-reality’ perspective to the genre of veduta.[5]
Vorih is credited with action painting utilizing several styles including the influence of the Renaissance, that is Mannerism through an exaggerated perspective, Baroque in the contrast of light and shadow, as well as the techniques of Impressionism, Pointillism and Abstract Expressionism.[6][7]
His application of these several styles and painting techniques to veduta has earned him recognition as one of the exclusive protagonists of this genre in contemporary painting.[8][9]
