The Beginning of the Encampment:

The encampment took shape with a rally of over 500 students, including a Palestinian DJ performing on the 2nd day.[4] Within 7 days, the student protestors had blockaded the administrative HQ of the university, known as King's Gate after the Vice-Chancellor Chris Day[5] failed to turn up to the first negotiations meeting, demanded by the students.
