Nitish Rajput (born 8 October 1994) is an Indian YouTuber, social media activist and author[2]. He is known for his YouTube videos on social, political, and environmental issues.[3][4] As of July 2024, he has about 5.9 million subscribers across all channels and 1.036 billion total video views. He was awarded the RNG Awards for political reporting in 2022.[5]
Early life
[edit]Nitish was born in Sultanpur, U.P. He received his primary education from Uttarakhand.[6] He holds a bachelor's degree in IT Engineering.[6][7]
Career
[edit]Nitish is known for his political and social videos, which mainly contain fact-checking and explaining complex sensitive topics in a simple way. He started uploading videos during Covid - 19 lockdown.[7] In 2020 his video about the Indian Education system which was based on the effect of Lord Macaulay's education policy in British India[8] and ground level problems faced by farmers in the farm laws went viral and received significant media coverage.[9][8]
He was misidentified as IPS officer Shailja Kant Mishra by a writer Harinder S. Sikka the author of calling sehmat while speaking about the criminalization of Indian politics in his YouTube video.[10][11] One of other videos about Pakistan got notice from India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting after which they inform him to trim parts where the wrong map was used.[5]
He is the Author of ‘’The Broken Fourth Pillar’’ and “The Broken Pillars of Democracy” with the latter becoming an Amazon best seller.[12][13]
