Noureddine Taboubi (Arabic: نور الدين الطبوبي ) (born February 8, 1961, Béja)[1], is a Tunisian trade unionist and secretary general of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) since 2017.
Biography
[edit]He began his career as a trade unionist in the early 1990s, holding the position of general secretary of the basic union of the Tunisian Meat Company[1].
In 2000, he held the position of secretary general of the Tunis Regional Labor Union, and he continued to climb the ranks in this same regional institution until 2011, when he became deputy secretary general in charge of internal regulations, this at central level[1].
On January 26, 2017, he was elected general secretary of the UGTT at the end of the union's 23rd Congress[2].
He is married and the father of four children.
