Omar Khoujib, known as elt4nqu3 or el T4nqu3 (Prato, March 7, 2002) is an Italian digital artist who has been active since 2016. Renowned for his distinctive "LowPoly Art" style, he has gained recognition for translating his emotions and life experiences into abstract and geometric imagery. His work has been showcased in various art spaces across Europe, including Brussels, Prato, Bergamo and Brescia.

Biography

[edit]

Omar Khoujib was born in Prato, Italy. He began his artistic career in 2016 at the age of 14, venturing into the world of digital art and graphic design. Initially, he experimented with various visual styles, including pixel art, which allowed him to develop a broad range of technical skills. These early explorations represented a phase of learning and artistic growth, during which Khoujib sought to find his unique style. It was only later, through the adoption of the "LowPoly Art" style, that the artist began to produce more personal and profound works, translating his emotions and life experiences into imaginary scenarios and abstract figures.

Career

[edit]

Khoujib's "LowPoly Art" style became the hallmark of his artistic production, characterized by the use of simple geometric shapes to depict people and scenes in an abstract manner. This distinctive vision allowed Khoujib to capture the attention of various art spaces, both locally and internationally. Among these, Artist Invasion[1] in Prato, Ink Club in Bergamo, and ArtCrush Gallery in Brussels stand out as significant venues that showcased his work.

In 2022, Khoujib's collaboration with ArtCrush Gallery led to the projection of his piece "Last Kiss" in Brussels, marking an important milestone in his career. This not only recognized his talent but also served as a springboard for greater visibility and appreciation within the digital art community.

The following year, in 2023, Khoujib decided to take a break to embark on a period of creative exploration. During this time, he developed new concepts and techniques, culminating in the project "The Key of Dawn", which marked his return and a significant evolution in his style. This project garnered considerable attention, leading to his inclusion among emerging artists in the 2024 edition of Fifteen Magazine by Psicografici Editore.

In 2024, Omar Khoujib held his first solo exhibition as part of the "BE in HU-BS Martinengo[2][3]" project at Palazzo Martinengo, Brescia. The exhibition, titled "Prima che la Ferita si Rimargini" (Before the Wound Heals), represented the culmination of his artistic journey up to that point. The project is characterized by a common thread running through all his works, culminating in a 60-second animation that gives the exhibition its name. To complement the exhibition, Khoujib released for a short time a series of eponymous fanzines, distributed for free, that document and delve deeper into his work.
