Optix is a coworking space management software founded in 2015 in Vancouver, British Columbia.[1] The company specializes in creating software to manage coworking spaces and is available in over 25 countries. [2] [3]

In 2022, Optix was voted the best coworking space management software in user experience by Coworking Resources.[4]

Optix software service[edit]

Optix is a mobile-first software provider for coworking spaces and flexible workspaces available on iOS and Android.[5]

The Optix platform currently includes white-labeled native mobile apps, resource management, custom resource types, multi-location management, automated invoicing and payments, flexible plans and access, and check-ins. [3]

Along with traditional coworking spaces, Optix also serves niche coworking businesses and non-traditional flex spaces including medical coworking.[6]

ShareDesk Global Inc.[edit]

ShareDesk Global Inc. is the privately-held Canadian corporation that owns Optix as well as ShareDesk.net which was a short-term marketplace for coworking spaces.[7]

ShareDesk.net was a digital marketplace for renting out partial areas of a business space, including conference rooms and desks. It was dubbed the “AirBnB of office spaces” in 2012 and was available in more than 50 countries at launch. [8] The Sharedesk.net marketplace was retired in 2016.

In 2014, ShareDesk received $1.1 million in a funding round led by venture capitalist Tim Draper to launch ShareDesk Optix.[9]

On January 15, 2015, ShareDesk launched ShareDesk Optix as a one-stop solution that provides serviced offices, coworking spaces, and flexible office facilities with all the tools necessary to efficiently run a shared office space.[10]

On May 19, 2015, Kimball Office announced a strategic investment in ShareDesk Optix to help organizations optimize their real estate utilization.[11]
