Early Life

P.K. Babu was born on September 25th, 1977 and has been involved with the DMK Party since his childhood.

Babu's involvement with the DMK Party began early. He participated in a DMK protest supporting the Sri Lankan Tamil Community at the age of 5 in the year 1982. Throughout his life, he was a notable party cadre and strategic player, playing major roles in ensuring the success of the DMK Party in municipal, legislative, and parliamentary elections in the Salem area.

Profession

He is an immigration lawyer and holds a Bachelor's degree in Law and a DIIPL from London University.

As a Party Cadre

In 1999, Babu was appointed as DMK youth wing secretary of the 26th division in Salem. He founded the student wing at Salem Law College, and I.P. Senthil Kumar, who is currently the MLA of Palani Constituency, was appointed as the treasurer of that student wing.

When his leader, Dr.Kalignar, was arrested in falsely framed case, there were huge protests across the Salem area, and Babu, along with many other key party leaders, was arrested and spent around 14 days in Salem prison, which caused him to miss his university exams.

Babu worked for the election campaigns of Veerapandi S. Arumugam, known as "Salethu Singam," until the 2006 elections. His hard work and strategies gave him an opportunity to work for the current chief minister and party leader, Mr. M.K. Stalin, in the 2011 MLA election throughout the Kolathur constituency.

As a Secretary - USWA

Babu is known to be a close aide of the Sports and Youth Welfare Minister of Tamil Nadu, Honorable Udayanidhi Stalin. Babu's coordination gave additional strength to the success of Udayanidhi's parliament election campaigns throughout Tamil Nadu in 2019.

He also holds the state secretary role in Udayanidhi Stalin welfare association and managing trustee of welfare trust. President of USWA is honorable education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi.

Philanthropy

Babu is also known for his humanitarian acts. In the year 2023, he was awarded the humanitarian hero award by QATAR Tamil Association for spreading awareness among many youths to start supporting the needy community during the COVID crisis.
