July 2, 1938 - November 11, 2021 (83 years old). Born in Liverpool, England. Patricia Heyes Dokoudovsky (Patsy; as she is known by family) first studied ballet at the YWCA when her family immigrated to New York City after World War II.

Following an introductory 10-week course, Patsy was invited to study at Carnegie Hall where she studied with Vladimir Dokoudovsky at Ballet Arts.

Ballet Russe legend Vladimir Dokoudovsky and Patricia began a romance and would eventually marry, remaining madly in love until his death in 1998.

She joined the Metropolitan Opera Ballet in 1960 and became a principal and soloist; dancing in such famed operas as La Traviata, Aida, Faust, and the ballets Les Sylphides, restaged by Alicia Markova, and the American premiere of the Bournonville ballet La Ventana, restaged by Hans Brenner.

Over the years, Patsy traveled worldwide with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet before retiring in 1982.

In 1977, she and her husband Vladimir opened the Dokoudovsky New York Conservatory Of Dance. She was Director of the school for nearly three decades, where she continued to carry on Vladimir Dokoudovsky's vision of conserving the Preobrajenska method and tradition.

She remained Director and regularly instructed classes into her old age. She remained doing what she loved until the end. Even adapting to online video instruction during the Covid '19 shut downs in Manhattan. Demonstrating ballet from her unique Hells Kitchen area co-op that her and Vladimir owned and lived in for most of the marriage.
