Peter Voss (born 1954) is a German-born entrepreneur, engineer, and cognitive scientist known for his contributions to software systems design and Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).[1]
Biography
[edit]In 1971, he joined a standby power company where he learned electrical and electronics engineering.[1]
In 2001, Voss founded Adaptive AI Inc., the first general intelligence software company. In 2002, he coined the term ‘Artificial General Intelligence’ (AGI) with two other people, Ben Goertzel, and Shane Legg, and together they published the book ‘Artificial General Intelligence’. The Research & Development efforts of Adaptive AI led to the creation of the first-generation commercial company StartAction AI using a proto-AGI engine for advanced call center automation. Voss ran the company Smart Action until 2013, after which he hired a management team to run the company and returned to developing AGI.[2][3]
In 2013, Voss founded AGI3 Innovations, a pure development company. After many iterations, the second-generation proto-AGI model was created. In 2018, Voss founded Aigo.ai Inc.[2][3]
