Pranay Reddy Vanga is an Indian film producer. He is the elder brother of writer-director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. He began his journey in the film industry as a producer, with Arjun Reddy (2017) and Animal (2023). He owns Bhadrakali Pictures along with his father, Prabhakar Reddy, and Sandeep Reddy.
Early life[edit]
He was born in the Warangal district of the state of Telangana. He completed his elementary education at Platinum Jubilee High School in Warangal. He went on to major in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Gulbarga in Bhalki, Karnataka. He went to Europe in 2001 for the Masters program in Mechanical Engineering in 2003, from the University of Dularna in Sweden. He also received a business managerial degree from the University of Bern, Switzerland.
Film career[edit]
Pranay Reddy ventured in to film production with Arjun Reddy, directed by his younger brother, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, under their production house Bhadrakali Pictures. It starred Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in the lead roles, while Rahul Ramakrishna, Jia Sharma, Sanjay Swaroop, Gopinath Bhat, Kamal Kamaraju and Kanchana appeared in supporting roles. It opened to instant critical acclaim upon release, and went on to become a huge blockbuster. It also garnered a huge cult following.
He later produced Animal along with Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Murad Khetani, under Bhadrakali Pictures, T-Series Films, and Cine1 Studios. It starred Ranbir Kapoor, alongside Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Tripti Dimri. Unlike Arjun Reddy, it opened to a polarizing response from both the critics and audience, alike. Ranbir and Anil Kapoor's performances were universally praised, however, it received a lot of criticism for the sexual innuendos, vulgarity, profanity, violence, and Bobby Deol's short screen time.
