Pure Greens, LLC is an agriculture manufacturing company based in Phoenix, AZ- that sells and manufactures turnkey hydroponic farm systems. Pure Greens container farms can cultivate a variety of produce, including leafy greens, herbs, microgreens, and edible flowers in a climate-controlled, insulated grow area.

Early history

[edit]

Pure Greens was established in 2015 by Taisiya and Damon Jacobson.[2] Damon’s extensive experience in the shipping container industry and Taisiya’s expertise from the restaurant industry in Europe provided the foundation to create a business that combined the two industries together.

Facilities

[edit]

Pure Greens operates a 90,000-square-foot fabrication facility in Phoenix, Arizona, manufacturing 20- and 40-foot containerized hydroponic systems.[3]

Pure Greens Container Farm

[edit]

Pure Greens designs and manufactures container farms in-house, featuring various layouts to support different stages of plant growth. The company incorporates hydroponic systems inside a refurbished refrigerated container, and uses an HVAC unit attached to the back of the container to climate-control the growing area.

The company's Full-Grow layout provides the entirety of the container farm's interior for vertical farming. In contrast, the Split-Grow layout includes both a space for late-stage plants and a smaller, separate area that can be used as a nursery, processing and packaging space, storage, or for employee lockers.

Pure Greens nursery containers are engineered to optimize conditions for seedlings, offering a climate-controlled environment to enhance early growth.

Hydroponic Methods

[edit]

Pure Greens container farms employ two hydroponic methods: Nutrient film technique (NFT) and Deep flow technique (DFT).

● Nutrient film technique is an active recovery hydroponic system that periodically runs a small amount of nutrient solution through roots and channels. This system accommodates more plant sites, making it ideal for commercial production.

● Deep flow technique also known as Deep water culture (DWC) is an active recovery hydroponic system that keeps roots periodically submerged while filling and draining trays with nutrient water. This system is compatible with a variety of different growing media and plant types, making it ideal when you need versatility.

Customer Support

[edit]

Pure Greens offers one-on-one training at their headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, or at the customer's location. Additionally, the company provides detailed user manuals and a one-year warranty for materials and workmanship.[4]
