Draft:Ram Bilas Pachori

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  • Comment: Well done on creating the draft, and it may potentially meet the relevant requirements (including WP:GNG, WP:ANYBIO, WP:NPROF, WP:AUTHOR) but presently it is not clear that it does.
As other reviewers have noted, Wikipedia's basic requirement for entry is that the subject is notable. Essentially subjects are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. To properly create such a draft page, please see the articles ‘Your First Article’, ‘Referencing for Beginners’ and ‘Easier Referencing for Beginners’.
Please note that many of the references are not from sources that are considered reliable for establishing notability.
Also, if you have any connection to the subject, including being paid, you have a conflict of interest that you must declare on your Talk page (to see instructions on how to do this please click the link).
Please familiarise yourself with these pages before amending the draft. If you feel you can meet these requirements, then please make the necessary amendments before resubmitting the page. It would help our volunteer reviewers by identifying, on the draft's talk page, the WP:THREE best sources that establish notability of the subject.
It would also be helpful if you could please identify with specificity, exactly which criteria you believe the page meets (eg "I think the page now meets WP:NPROF criteria #3, because XXXXX").
Once you have implemented these suggestions, you may also wish to leave a note for me on my talk page and I would be happy to reassess. Cabrils (talk) 08:11, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: It is not helpful for the URL to take the reader to the home page of an institution's website where there's no mention of Pachori.
Please update the URLs in the references to take the reader to a page where they can verify the statement that the reference is there to support. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 11:56, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: Is WP:RESUME still. Saw the previous AfD comment.
I think this person probably is notable for WP:ACADEMIC by citation count, but the sourcing is not enough in this article.
Please find sourcing that is independent of the author (not written by the author). Sources 10-19 are not useful as references and should be put into a bibliography or works page. see Malcolm_Gladwell#Bibliography Bluethricecreamman (talk) 03:23, 17 July 2024 (UTC)

Ram Bilas Pachori (born 1979) is a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Indore, India[1] [2]. His research interests include signal processing, image processing, biomedical signal processing, non-stationary signal processing, speech signal processing, brain-computer interfaces, machine learning, artificial intelligence and Internet of things in healthcare.[3][4]

Education

[edit]

He received the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree with honours in electronics and communication engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal, India, in 2001 [5], the Master of Technology (M.Tech.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India, in 2003 and 2008, respectively[6][7] .

Career

[edit]

Pachori was a post-doctoral fellow at the Charles Delaunay Institute, University of Technology of Troyes, France from 2007 to 2008[8] before becoming an assistant professor at the Communication Research Center, International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, India, from 2008 to 2009.[8]

He was an assistant professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Indore, from 2009 to 2013 before being promoted to associate professor from 2013 to 2017[2][9]. He has been a professor in the same department since 2017 and is affiliated with the Center for Advanced Electronics at IIT Indore[10][11]

In addition to his roles in India, he has been a visiting professor at various institutions, including the Department of Computer Engineering, Modeling, Electronics and Systems Engineering at the University of Calabria in Italy in July 2023 and the Faculty of Information & Communication Technology at the University of Malta from June to July 2023 [12]. He worked at the Neural Dynamics of Visual Cognition Lab at the Free University of Berlin, Germany from July to September 2022[13] and at the School of Medicine, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at Taylor's University, Malaysia, from 2018 to 2019[14] Earlier, in December 2014, he was a visiting scholar at the Intelligent Systems Research Center, Ulster University, Londonderry [14] .

He has authored a total of 339 publications, comprising 213 journal articles, 89 conference papers, 10 books, and 27 book chapters.[15] He holds eight patents, which include one granted patent in Australia and seven published patents in India.[16]

He is an associate editor of the IEEE Open Journal of Engineering in Medicine and Biology,[17] Computers and Electrical Engineering (Elsevier)[18] Electronics Letters[19] and Biomedical Signal Processing and Control (Elsevier).[20]

He is a fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology[21] [22] , Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers[23] [24] and the Institution of Engineers [14][25] .

According to Google Scholar[26] , Web of Science[27] , and Scopus[28] , his research work has been cited 16800, 10568 , and 13478 times respectively.
