Richard T. Miller (18__ – April 11, 1873)[1] was a justice of the Idaho Territorial Supreme Court from 1868 to 1869.

Appointed July 1, 1868.[2] (deceased by 1900)

"This appointment clearly carries with it the removal of John Cummins, present Associate Justice".[3]

Lived on the Pacific coast for fifteen or twenty years past, and took a prominent part in the political affairs of California up to the breaking out of the civil war, and came to Idaho, we believe, in 1864, where be has been engaged since that time in the practice of law, with the exception of about one year, when he filled the position of Associate Justice of the Supreme Court by appointment from President Johnson; but was removed, on account of his being a Democrat, when President Grant came into office. Prior to his appointment as Associate Justice he represented Owyhee county in the Territorial Council; and in 1863 failed of the nomination for Delegate to Congress by the Democratic Convention by only three votes.[1]

Miller had a wife and two children at the time of his death. He died in Silver City, reportedly having "taken ill and died suddenly of apoplexy", despite being healthy only days earlier.[1]
