Musical Career[edit]

Like many other aspiring artist during that era of the "SoundCloud Rapper", Rome took the emotional pain and anger from a spiraling toxic relationship, and produced and self recorded his 1st single "08.24". The single would go on to get the immediate attention of his peers and hometown, labeling him a lyrical unique talent like no other from Texas. The unexpected praise pushed Rome to channel his true artistry which gave birth to his 12 track no skip album 'Unfortunately Unforgettable". The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered all in a 6 hour session which caught the attention of many as an incredible feat from a artist new to the game. Following the success of that album Rome would go on to release a few more singles before transitioning all his focus to next body of work "4th Qtr Mamba". The 2nd studio album by the newly discovered artist went on to be labeled another classic to his growing catalog. Many fans don't know that the rapper draws symbolic inspiration between his birthdate numbers of August (8th month) and the day (24th). Those two numbers, "8" & "24", are the jersey numbers of the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant. Growing up, Kobe was his favorite player for which he highly admired Bryant's work ethic known as the "Mamba Mentality". This became a persona "the 4th quarter Mamba" which the rapper has shown to have flashes of that himself on his song "Mamba Mentality" which he collaborated with Texas legendary producer Mr.Lee(3). During the 10 hr session creating the album, the world was introduced to COVID-19 Pandemic resulting in the rapper delaying the album for 1 year to allow the world to focus on what was more important at the time, staying protected & healthy as possible. The album would later go on to release on the rappers symbolic birthday, highlighting his versatility and hunger for success on the fan favorite "Perfect Timing". Life obstacles and reflections on the rappers past trauma are detailed on tracks like "Class of 19" and "4AM".

The highly anticipated song "Halftime Show", deep message of "Marathon", & trending snippet from "West" also features on this incredible passionate album making it a timeless body of work for RomeHtx's catalog.

He would go on to dedicate the album to Kobe with plans of flying to LA to give Bryant a CD version of album to sign on Mamba Day in Los Angeles. Unfortunately Kobe, his daughter Gigi, and others were victims a tragic helicopter crash. The rapper went on to express his condolences on social media letting fans know true respect for Bryant and what he stood for. Following this album release was the beginning of a drought period of no music from the artist as he began to focus more on the business marketing side of the music industry. After taking a hiatus from music to focus on life's problems, Rome is surely back for more with his latest 8 track project "The Wait is Over II" generating his 1st buzz and receiving creative praised for his song "Higher". Artistic Influences[edit]

Rome has cited several hip-hop artists as influencing his rapping style, including Tupac, Jay-Z, Eminem, Nas, and Andre 3000.[184] He described in an interview with Steve Lobel, "Jay [Z] was a mentor before I ever signed to him." "I studied his moves that much. ... I got to go on tour with him and steal a lot of gems. That's how you supposed to do it. You're supposed to learn and take pieces from the greatest. So, Jay was my mentor before I ever signed to him. And now that I signed to him it's just a blessing to be able to hit him for advice and get that real 20 years of experience or however long he been in the game. It's priceless." "My favorite rapper was Pac," he said. "He was my favorite rapper before I even started rapping. Before I even thought of—It went from Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown as a kid and artists like that. Even Kool Moe Dee. Just the cool dude that I looked up to. And then one day my stepfather came home from—I don't know if he was back from Desert Storm. ... I remember him coming home with that first Pac album. With 'Brenda's Got a Baby'. It was 2Pacalypse Now. And since then—When I was too young to know what he was talking about, but it connected. Cause that's the thing about art. It's just truth. It's straight–Whatever you feel. So, even as a seven-year-old kid, eight-year-old kid I could hear Pac's early albums and feel the truth."[185][186] Rome drew comparisons to Nas following the release of Friday Night Lights, stating that Nas served as the primary inspiration behind the creation of the mixtape.[187] Rome later addressed their musical similarities on "Let Nas Down", a song written and composed due to his disparaging comments towards "Work Out".[188] As a response to this record, Nas came out with the song "Made Nas Proud" shortly after.[189]
