Sonawari is a town and a sub-district (tehsil) in the Bandipora district of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Nestled in the northern part of the Kashmir Valley, Sonawari is known for its scenic beauty, fertile agricultural land, and cultural heritage. It is located near the banks of the Jhelum River and in proximity to Wular Lake, one of Asia's largest freshwater lakes.
