Draft:Salvadoran government-in-exile

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Salvadoran government-in-exile was an exile government based in Guatemala claiming to be the legitimate government of El Salvador 1944-1945.

The Salvadoran government-in-exile was proclaimed by Miguel Tomás Molina in Guatemala City on November 10, 1944. The proclamation occurred in the backdrop of the October 21, 1944 coup d'état that brought Colonel Osmín Aguirre y Salinas to power. Only Honduras and Nicaragua recognized the Aguirre y Salinas regime but no government recognized the Salvadoran government-in-exile.[1]
