Scheisse Minnelli is a hardcore punk band based in Germany. The band was started in late 2003 by Samuel el Action and Egore from California and Dudel and Markus Däsch from Aschaffenburg, Germany.

The band has toured all over Europe, the USA, Mexico, Japan, Indonesia, and South Korea. They have released 5 full-length albums and toured and played with bands such as Pennywise, Raw Power, NOFX, Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine, Lagwagon, Negative Approach, and more.

Although the band started in Aschaffenburg, the members are currently spread out between Aschaffenburg, Frankfurt, and Cologne. The band still has three of its original members, and Michael Porter has been the guitarist since 2011.

History[edit]

Start of the band
The seeds of the band started when Sam was on a backing packing trip through Europe. He went to Aschaffenburg on a wim afer meeting Thomas Koehler in Kassel. Thomas told him to come out and party in Aschaffenburg. The weekend Sam went out there he met Dudel who was drumming in 5 bands at the time, but still insisted that they start a band together.

Sam then recruited Egore a former bandmate from California. Dudel then asked Däsch who was in already in multiple bands with at the time. This would be the first line up. They first practices were in September 2003.

Egore and Sam were living in a village called Zwingenburg about an hour's train ride from Aschaffenburg. They were living there with some Polish construction workers in a flop house.

Scheisse Minnelli's first gig ever took place in that house. It was flyered as a 'House Wrecking Party.' They decided to throw the party when they got an eviction letter asking them to leave by December 1st.

Around a 100 people showed up. Some of the gnarlier punks started destroying the kitchen right away tossing the oven out of the window. When the construction workers got home they were surprised to see so many people there but did not notice the damage yet. Once the music started it got even more out of hand and more things got destroyed.

The construction workers then turned the power off in hopes of getting everyone to calm down. It only made people get more crazy and when Sam turned the power back on the chaos continued. This went back and forth a coupe of times until they took out the fuses leaving the power out with no hopes of turning back on with the resources they had.

Then the police showed up from 3 neighboring towns since the village of Zwingenberg do not have their own police force. Things got even more crazy. A couple of people got thrown down the stairs and 4 or 5 people got arrested. The band escaped and moved to Aschaffenburg that night.

Early Years 2003-2007
After the so called 'shit house' gig Scheisse Minnelli recorded a demo that would send them on their first tour that was a short one thorugh Belgium and the Netherlands. All of the gigs were with a Japanese band called Chainsaw and ended with an amazing gig that the Lintfabierk in Kontich, Belgium opening for Poison Idea.

After that tour Egore went home to California and was replaced by a German Felix. This line up would record the first 2 records and do tours with Raw Power, Pennywise (band) and tour the USA for the first time.

2008-2011
Felix would leave the band due to general differences. The band would go through many guitarists including a few tours as a 3 piece.

They then found Alex Kreck. He would record The Fight Against Reality with the band. This LP included collaborations with members of RKL and Attitude Adjustment.

This line up would do gigs and tour with NOFX, Pennywise, Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine, and many more.

During the 2011 tour Sam and Däsch bumped into Mikey Porter at an OFF! gig at Gilman on a day off. Mikey and Sam used to play together in bands when Sam lived in California. Here the seeds for Mikey to join the band were planted.

2011-Present
Mikey ended up coming to Germany in mid 2011 and quickly replaces Alex in the band. Sam and Mikey were on a wavelength both growing up in California that bought an amazing breath of fresh air to the band.

Mikey would help write the next two albums and toured with the band in the USA, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, and Indonesia. In 2014 this line up would contribute 2 songs to the cult German horror movie The Curse of Doctor Wolffenstein.

Although there would be some changes until the current state the Mikey, Sam, Däsch and Dudel line up reformed in 2023 and are still gigging and working on new material.

Collaborations[edit]

Over the years the band has collaborated with many other bands on music live and in the studio. Three of the albums were recorded and produced by Archi Alert who played in Inferno and Terrorgruppe.

On The Fight Against reality Attitude Ajustment members Chris Kontos, Eric McEntire, and Kevin Reed sang on their cover of Get Serious. Also on that release Chris Rest, Joe Raposo (bassist) and Barry D'live from RKL sang on their cover of Lies.
