About Scherezade Siobhan is an Indian psychologist, poet, and researcher known for her work in the field of mental health advocacy, trauma studies, and intersectional feminism. She holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and has authored several books, essays, and academic articles exploring themes related to trauma, gender, identity, and social justice. Siobhan is also recognized for her contributions to mental health awareness and her efforts to destigmatize discussions around mental illness in India and beyond. She is a prominent figure in the online mental health community and frequently speaks on topics related to mental health, social justice, and feminism.

Life and Education

Scherezade Siobhan holds a master's degree in clinical psychology and is trained via the Albert Ellis Institute in RECBT.

She has written columns for mental health and psychology for the Quint.

Literary Career

Scherezade Siobhan is a multifaceted artist whose literary career encompasses poetry, prose, and academic writing. Her work is characterized by its exploration of trauma, identity, mental health, and social justice themes. While Siobhan's primary focus is on her psychological research and advocacy work, she also actively engages in creative writing, using poetry as a medium for personal expression and social commentary.

Her first book of poems "Bone Tongue" was published by Thought Catalog books in 2015. She followed that collection with a widely celebrated collection of poems titled "Father, Husband" (Salopress UK, 2016). Her next collection of poems was called "The Bluest Kali" and was published in 2019 by Lithic Press, an award-winning US based indie press. She has won Best of Net prize as part of the Sundress Anthology in 2017. She has read her work at Saboteur Festival in London and was also invited to perform at the prestigious Hugo House in Seattle. She won the inaugural Berfrois Poetry Prize in 2016.

In 2022, she was conferred the prestigious Charles Wallace fellowship at the University of Stirling in Scotland.

Her first non-fiction collection "That Beautiful Elsewhere: Journeys in Mental Health" was published by Harper Collins in 2023.
