The Second Yom Kippur War is an ongoing conflict fought between the nation of Israel and member fighters originating in the ongoing Gaza–Israel conflict. The conflict began early on the 7th of October 2023, the day after the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War. Initial reports from Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Israel) on X.com (Formerly Twitter) indicate that the initial barrage of rockets into Israel was complimented with infiltration activity.[1][2].

The Times of Israel indicated that Israel Defense Forces were "Prepared for War" following clashes in Southern Israel[3], while The Jerusalem Post stated "The IDF said that the chief of staff was conducting a situation assessment Saturday morning and approving plans for the continuation of IDF operations"[4]
