Senpass (stylized as SENPASS) is the second extended play by South Korean singer Jiyeon. It was released on December 26, 2019 by Longzhen Culture Development. "Take A Hike" was released as the title track.[1]The title of the album, Senpass, is a portmanteau for “sense” and “compass”.[2]

Release[edit]

On November 26, 2019, a representative from her company Partners Park announced that Jiyeon would be preparing for a solo comeback. At a interview for Jiyeon's recent drama "I Wanna Hear Your Song", Jiyeon stated regarding a comeback "Right now, I am talking about it with my agency, and I think it will be out this year. One of the tracks I'm working on is somewhat similar to my previous song Never Ever, and another single is very opposite to my previous music. It would give an absolutely new feel."[3]

On December 19, Longzhen Culture Development confirmed that Jiyeon would be releasing a new mini album. On December 19 and 24 respectively, the first two teasers for the title track "Take A Hike" were released.[4]

On December 26, the official music video for "Take A Hike" was released along with the album release. On this day, a physical CD release of the album was released, only limited to 2000 copies. Jiyeon went onto Instagram Live this day to share her apologies, and it was revealed that despite choreography being made and released through a dance practice video and a new look for Jiyeon because of the album, Longzhen Culture Development was not promoting the release of the album whatsoever.[5]
