Draft:Serving House Books

  • Comment: Most listed sources are not independent of the subject, and, although they can be kept for uncontroversial descriptive statements, do not show notability. Other listed sources are WP:ROUTINE, and do not contribute to passing the WP:GNG either. Finally, most remaining sources that aren't in any of the categories listed above to not show significant coverage of the subject. That leaves only a few sources left and what is left is not enough to prove notabilty. UserMemer (chat) Tribs 18:41, 15 October 2024 (UTC)

Serving House Books is an international small press that publishes fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and art. The catalogue has over 125 books in print from authors from various countries.[1] [2]

The press was founded in 2009 by Walter Cummins of New Jersey and Thomas E. Kennedy of Copenhagen. Cummins and Kennedy are widely published authors with a large catalogue of their own books. Cummins has over 100 stories in print. [3] [4] Kennedy passed away in 2021.

Several titles have been award winning books of historical fiction.[5] Critically acclaimed authors include Donna Baier-Stein, Peter Selgin, Linda Lappin, Ronna Wineberg, and Don Zancanella. Ronna Winberg's collection Artifacts and Other Stories was winner of the 2024 Short Story Fiction Award. [6]

Claire Bateman[7] was the first author published by the press with a chapbook titled Coronology.[8]

Three of Donna Baer Stein's books have been published by Serving House Books, including The Silver Baron's Wife, which was nominated for several awards.[9] [10]

Ronna Wineberg's book Artifacts and Other Stories was the winner in Short Story Fiction for the 2024 American Fiction Awards, a 2024 Independent Press Award Distinguished Favorite, and was long-listed for the Shelf Unbound Best Indie Book Competition.[11] [6][12]

The press hosted Serving House: The Journal for eighteen editions under the direction of writer and editor[13].[14]

The press is currently located in Raleigh, North Carolina. William K. Lawrence is the new chief publisher.[15] [16]
