Under the pen name “Galorian,” he has also written several children's books in Hebrew.[3]

Gal-Or has introduced the concept of "Angelic Intelligence" (AI), emphasizing ethical and spiritual dimensions in the development of artificial intelligence.[4] His philosophy draws inspiration from Jewish philosophy and indigenous spiritual traditions, promoting a holistic approach to human progress.

Life and career

[edit]

Born on 27 November 1974, Sharon Gal-Or graduated from Tel Aviv University in 2002 with an MSc in Life Sciences. His academic background, combined with a passion for storytelling, led to his first book, Following The Sun Islands, published in Hebrew in 2002. The book recounts his hitchhiking journey on sailboats from Israel to Brazil between 1999 and 2000, offering insights into maritime cultures and personal exploration.[5]

During the early stages of his career, Gal-Or worked as a field and laboratory manager. He also developed Daniel’s Odyssey, a trilogy that explores humanity’s maritime history and its evolving relationship with the sea.[6]

Scientific Research and Publications

[edit]

In 2004, Sharon Gal-Or co-authored a peer-reviewed research article titled "Growth responses of Pterocladiella capillacea (Rhodophyta) in laboratory and outdoor cultivation," published in the Journal of Applied Phycology. Collaborating with Alvaro Israel of the Israel Oceanographic and Limnological Research Institute, the study analyzed the growth and photosynthetic responses of the red alga Pterocladiella capillacea under varying conditions, including temperature, irradiance, and nutrient supply. The research demonstrated the species' potential for mariculture and high-quality agar production, contributing valuable insights to the field of marine biotechnology.[7]

In addition to his scientific work, Gal-Or contributed to academic discussions on knowledge-based economies. His commentary was featured in a 2013 paper titled "Towards a Step-by-Step Approach to Developing a Knowledge-Based Economy in Hong Kong," published in the Hong Kong Public Administration Association Journal. This work explored strategies for fostering innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration in the context of regional development.[8]

Toys and Games Inventions

[edit]

Between 2009 and 2016, Sharon Gal-Or relocated to Hong Kong, where he founded Idea Sign Ltd., a toy and game licensing agency. This venture focused on licensing innovative toys and games to companies such as Simba Dickie Group and Funtastic. Products developed under his leadership include Qubic4, Ting Cards Game, Share On Magic, and PolyPolli Pachamama and PolyPolli Seeds (scheduled for early 2025 release).[9]

Gal-Or’s TING.Global card games, described by educators as “The Israeli mind in a box,” aim to foster entrepreneurial thinking and creativity.[10] These games align with Sustainable Development Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by promoting affordable tools to develop innovation skills and engaging underserved communities. Additionally, they highlight Israel’s contributions to global technology and interdisciplinary innovation.[11]

Cultural Diplomacy and Educational Impact

[edit]

Between 2009 and 2016, Sharon Gal-Or served on the Green Energy Committee for the Independent Power Producers Forum (IPPF) and collaborated with the STARS Foundation, focusing on fostering bilateral economic relations between Israel, Hong Kong, and mainland China. During this period, he worked with startups and corporate leaders in fields such as smart mobility, greentech, and financial technology (fintech). Gal-Or also organized delegations and promoted collaborations that bridged industry, government, and academia.[12]

In 2018, he founded TING Global, an educational platform designed to encourage interdisciplinary thinking and gamification in learning. TING’s initiatives include The Periodic Table of the Future of Work and Play, a conceptual framework exploring innovative paradigms in education and employment.[13][14]

TING’s card games, such as Challenge 18, have reached over 50 countries, promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by fostering collaboration and creativity.[15][16]

Creative Works and Social Campaigns

[edit]

Sharon Gal-Or’s creative projects often leverage storytelling and social engagement to promote sustainability, happiness, and resilience. In 2015, he launched two social campaigns in Hong Kong, Banana Smile and the Kukuriku Challenge, using humor and creativity to promote sustainable values. These campaigns were later introduced in Taiwan, where Gal-Or partnered with NGOs to distribute bilingual children’s books, including Jack and the Singing Garbage Truck and The Taiwanese Turtle and the Betel Nuts, as part of the "Share Values With a Smile" initiative.[17][18]

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Gal-Or initiated Challenge 18, a global digital program delivered through WhatsApp, encouraging participants to align their actions with the SDGs. Additionally, he has supported advocacy campaigns, including the Call to the Israeli Government to Declare a Climate Emergency and the Declaration of Regenerative Stewardship, both focused on promoting ecological change.[19]

In 2020, with increasing global interest in regenerative communities, Gal-Or produced documentaries in Costa Rica focusing on integrated living communities like Diamante Luz and Ecomaste, showcasing their local sustainability practices. In Honduras, he also produced two documentaries—Roots & Wings: The Story of Crawfish Rock Community and Tales from the Sea - Pirates, Treasures, Sharks—highlighting environmental resilience and cultural heritage.[20][21]

Gal-Or’s books, including Daniel’s Odyssey (2022) and The Secret Wisdom of the NEW Jewish People (2016), reflect his focus on spirituality and collective responsibility. His upcoming works, Garden of Wisdom: Timeless Teachings in an AI Era (2025) and Regenaissance: The Call to Heal (2024), explore the ethical implications of AI and advocate for regenerative practices.[22]

In 2024, Gal-Or co-founded LivingCities.Earth, an initiative aimed at promoting regenerative urban environments that integrate with local ecosystems. The same year, he was appointed CEO of the Impact Evaluation Foundation (IEF), where he advocates for transparent methodologies in ecological and social impact assessments.[24]

In October 2024, Gal-Or participated in SingularityNET’s Beneficial AGI Summit, engaging in discussions on decentralized governance and ethical development of advanced AI systems. These dialogues focused on aligning technological progress with collective well-being, consistent with Gal-Or’s emphasis on regenerative stewardship.[25]
