Shibu Soren Janjatiya Degree College is named after an eminent leader of Jharkhand Sri Shibu Soren and supremo of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha a state political party in India and this is established by another popular leader and present M.L.A. of Borio Assembly Sri Lobin Hembrom with the help of founder principal Dr. K. Ansari. This institution is located at the foot hills of the Rajmahal Hills near the Borio block in Santal dominant Santhal Pargana Division. This college is situated at the main road of Borio “ Boairijor“ Godda in Sahibganj District of Jharkhand. This College has eco friendly environment with a lot of trees and greenery seems to be the Shantiniketan for Borio. This is like Gurukula of an ancient teaching environment. It is a public college established in 1982 and famous for arts and science in the tribal region. It is affiliated to Sido Kanhu Murmu University,Dumka.
