Draft:Shiva Stream

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Shiva Stream is a stellar stream of the Milky Way Galaxy, which formed some 12 billion years ago, along with the Shakti Stream. It represents one of the foundational blocks that came together to form the Milky Way, merging into the Milky Way before it matured into a spiral galaxy. It is named after the Hindu deity Shiva, who paired with Shakti. It was discovered with the Gaia astrometry satellite.
