The Sir Anerood Jugnauth (SAJ) National Scholarship is a national scholarship available in Mauritius, first introduced in 2022 in the memory of the Honourable, Sir Anerood Jugnauth.[1][2]

The SAJ National Scholarship was first introduced by the Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Leela Devi-Dookun-Luchoomun in the Mauritius Budget 2022-2023 in the section "Finance Bill". It was also announced by one of the Finance Ministers in Mauritius, Renganaden Padayachy too.[3][4][5]

SAJ National Scholarship awards the best students (1 male and 1 female) in the field of Economics in the Mauritius Higher School Certificate.[6][7][8][9]

On 10 February 2023, the first two candidates were announced to have received the SAJ National Scholarship, GHOORA Girikshit from Royal College Curepipe[10] and SOOJHAWON Teejistha from Droopnath Ramphul State College[11] respectively. It is expected to continue every year in Mauritius. [12] [13][14]
