Skabara is a Swedish ska band started 2016 with intentions of combine the classic two-tone and ska music styles with the swedish punk scene. The band was started by Pål Sundkvist and Lasse Dahlin in the spring of 2016.
Skabaras demo era 2016-2019 was mainly focused in cover songs and had few original ideas. The one song that became a pillar for Skabaras sound was Skatteparadis, a song that later was the title song of the first and only demo by Skabara. The demo contained of Skatteparadis and a cover of Stig Dogg Roy Orbison. The demo was released 18th of January 2019.
Release of first album Råttkasino 26th of 2021 march cemented Skabaras sound with the mix by Ian Eiderbo. The sound has been described as nordic ska. Råttkasino was recorded in different locations; drums in Dark Prod Studio, vocals and horns in inhouse studio of Star Stable Entertainment and guitars, bass and miscellaneous percussion at No Mans Sound.
