Snehasish Sarkar (born June 19, 1984) also known as Sabbosachi Sarkar, is a Biotechnologist and Embryologist. Dr. Sarker is basically from Malda, West Bengal, India. He is now Faculty at Reproductive Medicine and Surgery (RMU), CMC, Vellore. Till now (March 2023) he is the only Clinical Embryologist in India who has come into this field after completing 10 years of full-time research work on Biotechnology from the IIT system.
Biography
[edit]He was born in Malda, West Bengal, India. Dr. Sarkar earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in Biotechnology from the University of Burdhaman, and Vidyasagar University. After that, he has 8 years of research experience in Genetic Engineering from IIT Kharagpur to pursue an MS (by research) and a Ph.D. degree. In 2019, he was awarded a doctorate by IIT Kharagpur. Dr. Sarkar began his career as an Embryologist[1][2][3]
Early life
[edit]Dr. Sarkar was born in Malda, West Bengal, India. His mother, Mrs.Kanak Lata Sarkar is a Housewife, and his father Mr. kajal Kumar Sarkar was a soldier who retired from Indian Army, and after that, he joined Indian Rail Way and retired there. Dr. Sarkar completed his schooling at Malda Zilla School, Malda, West Bengal, India, and completed XII from Mothuraput BSS High School. He earned his M. S. (by research) and doctorate from IIT Kharagpurin Biotechnology/ Genetic Engineering.
Marriage and children
[edit]Dr. Sarkar is married to Dr. Souri Roy also an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, working as Assistant Profesor at Sister Nivedita University (SNU) Kolkata https://snuniv.ac.in/department-details.aspx?id=20&sid=18. He has only one child named Vinayak Sarkar (Birthday 18 Oct 2015). His recreational interests include swimming and cricket.
