Isaac José Velazquez Moreno, better known by the stage name "Speaker Boy", is an electronic music producer and DJ. He specializes in house, drum and bass, trap, and techno.[1]

Early life

[edit]

Moreno began in music when he was around 12 years old, thanks to a musician close to his family named Miguel Octavio Flores Espín, who introduced him to academic music from a very early age, and where Isaac unintentionally discovered his passion for this art.

Later , Moreno would discover his interest in producing electronic music, which at that time his reference and greatest inspiration the Swedish producer and DJ Avicii.[2]

Musical career

[edit]

In the middle of his adolescence, he became curious about producing electronic music, he downloaded the FL Studio 10 program and started watching tutorials on YouTube, he started making mashups and edits. In 2017 he made a remix for Martin Garrix's song "There For You", which was well received on SoundCloud and received support from the Martin Garrix team.[2]

In the beginning he tried several times to send demos to various record labels but they were not accepted. In 2021 he decided to create his own record label, Y12 Records, to distribute his own music and help emerging artists.[3]

In 2023 he returned to music, producing songs such as "Again", "I Need You" and "Midnight", both released through Warner Music Group, this made the singles reach a much larger audience globally, being "I Need You" the most prominent and having the support of important artists such as Zonderling and Funkin Matt.[4][5]

In 2024 he released "Unravel" with British producer, DJ and singer Eric Spike, who had previous releases on Don Diablo's record label Hexagon. and that he fused his voice with this track to make it an authentic and melodic track within the deep house genre.[6]

After releasing and show his characteristic powefull and rhythmic sound that reached thousands of listeners and radios around the world , he took charge of the sound design to show something fesh in the future , deciding to expand his musical style to other genres such as Trap,Drum N Bass and techno music to become more versatile , he has been inspired by artists such as IMANU,Flume,Rebuke,Disclosure among others, he decided to send a request to the AWAL team, a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment., something that the AWAL team did not think twice about and that helped him achieve a distribution agreement.[7][1]
