Spilled!

Spilled! is an upcoming adventure game developed and published by dutch video game developer Lente for Windows and macOS.

Gameplay[edit]

In Spilled! the player controls a boat outfited with an oil tank and trash scoop that they use to clean up trash and oil spills. When the tank is full the player must drive it to a shop and empty it to continue cleaning.[1] When selling oil and trash at the store, the player is given coins that can be used to uprade the boat's engine, oil tank, and trash-scoop. Later the player also gains access to a water cannon they must use to wash away oil spills that are out of reach.[2]

As the player removes trash and oil from an area the water changes from dirty to clean, revealing the environment underneath. The player can also save animals that are stuck as a type of side mission.[2]

Development[edit]

After having bought and renovated a boat in October 2022, the dutch video game developer Lente started working on Spilled!.[3] On January 30, 2024 she started a Kickstarter-project which was fully funded in 12 hours.[4][5] Upon it's end on March 2, of the same year it had been funded €31,621 of the requested €10,000.[6]

The game has been translated to 45 languages through the website Localizor,[7][8] and has since October 16, 2023 had a free demo available through Steam.[9][10]
