Srideo jha [1] was an Indian Politician from Indian National Congress and a senior member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from the Araria seat in Bihar.

Biography[edit]

Srideo jha[2] was born on 2 October 1932 at village sirsiya kala near Bhargama block , in Araria District Bihar, emerged as a stalwart figure in the political landscape. His early years were marked by a deep connection to the grassroots, rooted in the cultural and socio-economic fabric of Bihar. Jha's foray into politics began with a commitment to community welfare. His dedication and leadership skills quickly gained recognition, propelling him into local governance roles. Born in Sirsiya Kala [3], Araria district, Bihar , Srideo jha has held various positions of responsibility, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the party's principles and the betterment of society.

Srideo Jha's dedication to social and administrative development is equally impressive. He served as the Mukhiya of Sirsiya Kala,Araria, from 1962 to 1977, playing a pivotal role in the village's governance and development.

Jha's organizational contributions to the Indian National Congress are a testament to his leadership abilities and unwavering dedication. He served as the Vice President of District Congress purnea from 1966 to 1968, followed by a stint as the District Congress Secretary from 1969 to 1972. He served as the President of District Congress purnea from 1980 to 1990.Jha's deep respect for the sacrifices of freedom fighters is reflected in his service as a member of the Bihar State Freedom Fighters Advisory Board from 1974 to 1976. In January 1990, Araria district was established as one of the administrative districts of Bihar under Purnea division. In the construction of Araria district, Srideo Jha has played a leading role[7][8] and In the construction of Araria College, he played a leading role.[9][10]

Jha's unwavering commitment to social welfare is further exemplified by his involvement as Vice President of Purnia District 20 Sutri Implementation Committee from 1980 to 1983. He actively participated in implementing the committee's goals, aimed at improving the lives of marginalized and underprivileged groups.
