Draft:Stealth-thriller

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Stealth-thriller, or also called ‹stealthriller› is a hybrid literary genre, which draws from Techno-thriller, thriller, spy, action and military novels. The literary genre focuses mainly on stealth actions, by spies or elite military personnel. The inner workings of stealth and the mechanics of various disciplines (espionage, martial arts, silenced weapons, etc.) are explored in depth, and the plot often revolves around the details of such exploration.

History[edit]

This genre began to exist at the beginning of the 21st century, in novellas by Italian novelist Simone Scarcella, featuring canadian settings or characters. Despite its birth in Italy, the expansion of the genre has featured two overseas nations: Canada and the United States of America.

Style[edit]

Stealth-thrillers rely heavily on details, particularly the stealthy and coordinated dynamics of an individual spy/military or elite military team (such as the famous "Ghost Reacons" or "Raibow Six" of the techno-thriller genre), exclusively silenced weapons, and military sabotage or silent gadgets, such as picks or frequency jammers.

This genre of novels, take place in real-life settings, accompanied by fictional narrative; they often tend to be considered as contemporary speculative fiction. To the extent that technology is now a dominant aspect of modern global culture, most modern thrillers are considered "techno-thrillers," which is why the stealth-thriller, has often been considered by critics, as a sub-genre of the more famous techno-thriller, although this choice does not espouse the beliefs of all literary critics. Stealth-thrillers also overlap with conspiracy fiction and apocalyptic fiction.

The stealth-thriller a fresh and still developing style being a hybrid genre, more closely related to thrillers and stealth technology, broadly speaking (considering all stealth subjects). Since modernity is constantly evolving, this brings a new interpretation of stealth thrillers with ever-changing progress, such as new military tactics or stealth weapons.
