Critical reception

[edit]

CCM Magazine described Steve Green's self-titled debut album as "a pleasant work in search of an audience," noting that the presence of sprightly Matthew Ward-style pop tunes seem off-kilter with the main focus of the album: "beautifully arranged and orchestrated" MOR songs that showcase "the rich, operatic quality of Steve's tenor voice."
