Stian Knutsen is a a Norwegian poet, writer and performer. His literary debut came in 2023 with the book People and life (Folk og livet) published with the Norwegian publisher Lyrikkforlaget. As an extention of the book, stian created a poetry show called "Stian's Poetry show, which is not a show" (Stian's diktshow, som ikke er et show), which was performed at various locations in the Bergen area. Stian is also a well known IT leader within the Norwegian maritime industry.
Early life
Stian was born in Stavanger, Norway on 31st of August 1989 to mother Monica and father Morten. Four years laters his twin siblings was born. In large parts of Stians early life he only grew up with his mother and his litle brothers, as the father was out of the picture. When Stian started in 8th grade, his familiy moved to Bergen, Norway. In Bergen Stian went to Blokkhaugen ungdomsskole before he started upper secondary school at Bergen Private Gymnasium. After ended upper secondary school. Stian moved to Edinburgh, Scotland to study bussiness and finance, allthough he stayed in Edinburgh for three years he did not complete his studies. Whilst growing up and in his teens, Stian was an active athlete both in fotball and american football. in 2005 he won the national chanmpionship in american football with Bergen Storm. Stian was orginally playing for Åsane Seahawks, a local competotor to Bergen Storm, but was on loan for a couple of seasons to Bergen Storm.
Later life
After Stian ended his studies he moved back to Bergen, where he ended up working different positions within the maritime landscape, before eventually ending up as an IT and application manager for well renowned sship owner and operator Rederiet Stenersen. Stian has two children, a son and a daugther. Stian had written poetry and short texts for his entire adult life, and in 2023 his first work was published.
